Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 10, 2026
Last updated: October 10, 2026

This policy explains what information The Social Pet Club collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.

Who we are

The Social Pet Club (the “App” and the website at thesocialpetclub.com, together the “Service”) is operated by Alexandra's Arc LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Mailing address: 6650 Rivers Ave, Suite 100, Charleston, SC 29406-4809, USA. Email: alex@thesocialpetclub.com.

The App is in pre-launch. This policy describes how the Service works today. When we add features that change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this policy first.

This policy applies to the Service. It does not apply to other websites or services that we link to but don't control.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information: your email address, your name, and your animal's name (or, for organizations, the organization's name). We create a username for you from your animal's name. You can also add a profile photo, bio, and other profile details. We sign you in with a one-time link sent to your email.
  • Pet profiles: details you add about your animals, such as name, type of animal, breed, birthday, city, photos, and bio.
  • Pet care details: if you choose to add them, your pet's veterinarian name and phone number, vaccines and due dates, food, medications, allergies, microchip number, and weight. This is information about your animal, and we use it to show it back to you and help with reminders.
  • Content you post: photos, videos, captions, comments, likes, saves, follows, milestones, and other content you create or share in the App.
  • Notes to other members: short messages (“notes”) you write to other members in the App.
  • Heaven memorials: memorials you create for a pet who has passed, including photos, dates, stories, notes, candles, and memories, and any recordings of your pet's sounds that you upload.
  • Adoption inquiries: if you ask to meet an animal listed by a rescue, your name, email address, phone number, and message.
  • Organization accounts: if you sign up as a rescue or brand, the organization's name, city, website, and tax ID (EIN) or nonprofit registration number, plus any items or listings you add.
  • Places you type: a place you choose to add to a post and the city you add to your profile or organization account.
  • Messages to us: what you send when you email us for support, to report content, or to give feedback.

Information collected automatically

  • Activity in the App: the actions you take, such as posting, liking, saving, following, and commenting, so the App can show them. We don't use analytics tools to track which screens you view.
  • Basic technical information: our hosting providers keep standard server logs, including your IP address, browser or device type, operating system, and the date and time of requests. They use these logs to run and secure the Service. An IP address can indicate your general region (such as city or state).
  • Information stored on your device: the App stores your sign-in session, drafts (such as videos you haven't posted yet), preferences, and cached files on your device using local storage. This lets you stay signed in and use the App smoothly. We don't use advertising cookies.

We don't use advertising identifiers, third-party analytics, crash-reporting tools, or tracking technologies.

Location

The App does not access your device's GPS or location services. If you choose to type a place on a post or a city on your profile, that text is saved and shown to other members.

Photos, videos, and audio

The App uses your device's standard file and photo picker, so it only receives the photos, videos, and audio files you choose. Your device may ask your permission before the App can use your camera, photo library, or microphone. When you upload a photo or video, the App re-saves (re-encodes) it, which removes embedded location data (EXIF) from the file.

How we use information

  • To create and run your account and your pets' profiles, and to sign you in with an email link.
  • To show your profile, pet profiles, posts, comments, memorials, and other content to other members.
  • To send your adoption inquiry to the rescue you contact.
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, including fixing problems.
  • To keep the community safe: preventing spam, fraud, and abuse, and enforcing our Terms of Use.
  • To communicate with you about your account, security, changes to the Service, and your support requests. We don't send marketing emails today. If we start, we'll ask first and every message will include a way to unsubscribe.
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

The App does not send push notifications today. If we add them, your device will ask for your permission first.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for advertising, including cross-context behavioral advertising.

We share information only in these situations:

  • With other members, by design. The Service doesn't have privacy settings yet. Your username, name, profile, pet profiles, posts, comments, memorials, and the places you type are visible to all signed-in members. Photo files are stored at web addresses that anyone with a direct link to the photo can open, even without an account. While the App is in pre-launch, other information saved with your profile and pet profiles, including your email address, pet care details, and notes you write, may also be visible to signed-in members. We are working to make that information visible only to you (and, for notes, the member you write to). Please don't post or add anything you want to keep private.
  • With a rescue you contact. When you ask to meet an adoptable animal, we share your name, email address, phone number, and message with that rescue so it can reply to you. The rescue handles that information under its own policies.
  • With service providers who help us run the Service on our behalf and may only use your information to provide their services to us:
    • Supabase: database, account sign-in (authentication), file storage for photos, videos, and audio, and sending sign-in emails.
    • Netlify: hosting for our website and the App.
    • jsDelivr: content delivery network that serves a code library the App loads. Like any website, it receives your IP address when it delivers the file.
    • Zoho: our email service, used when you write to us and we reply.
  • For legal reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to comply with law or legal process, to protect the rights, property, or safety of our members, the public, animals, or us, or to enforce our Terms.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
  • With your consent, for any other purpose you agree to.

The App links to other websites, such as pet product shops and services. Those sites are not controlled by us, and their own privacy policies apply.

How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information and content within 30 days, except where we need to keep certain information longer to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce our agreements. Copies in backups are removed on our hosting provider's normal backup cycle. Content other members have already shared or saved outside the App may persist. Information stored on your device stays there until you sign out, clear the App's data, or remove the App.

Deleting your account and data

You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time. Email alex@thesocialpetclub.com from the email address on your account with the subject “Delete my account.” We'll delete your account and your data, including your profile, pet profiles, posts, memorials, and uploaded files, within 30 days and confirm when it's done. You can also ask us to delete only specific data (for example, certain posts) without deleting your whole account.

We may need to confirm that the request comes from the account owner. A Delete account option inside the App is coming; until it's available, email is the way to delete your account.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. Because sign-in links are sent to your email, please keep your email account secure, and tell us right away if you think your account has been compromised.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and update: you can view and edit your profile in Edit Profile and your pet profiles in the App. To get a copy of your information, email us.
  • Delete: see “Deleting your account and data” above.
  • What you share: pet care details, places, and most profile details are optional. You can leave them blank or remove them.
  • Device permissions: you can turn off camera, photo, and microphone access in your device settings.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you live in California, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; request a copy of it; request that we correct or delete it; opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share it as those terms are defined); limit the use of sensitive personal information (we only use it as permitted by law); and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The categories of personal information we collect are described in “Information we collect” above: identifiers (such as name, email address, phone number for adoption inquiries, username, and IP address), user content (photos, videos, audio, posts, notes, and pet details), internet activity (server logs and actions in the App), the city or place you choose to type, and, for organization accounts, business information such as a tax ID. To make a request, email alex@thesocialpetclub.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

Other locations

Residents of other U.S. states, and people outside the U.S., may have similar rights under their local laws. Email us and we'll honor requests as required by applicable law. The Service is operated in the United States, and your information will be processed there.

Children's privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. If a higher minimum age applies where you live, you must meet that age to use the Service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add new features. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or in the App before they take effect, and we'll update the “Last updated” date above.
